“Frammenti d’anima” or “Fragments of the soul” is the product of three
expert players working in different genres of music and this is their
second release after the well received Kolkata Rose. Speaking of the
music flautist Geoff Warren says:
“This is not a free jazz album, it’s an album of improvised ethno-jazz,
or, if you like, just three people playing music: an Englishman, an
Italian and an Indian. Cue for a joke? Potatoes, pasta and papadoms?
But there was no flag-waving when the music happened, just cohesion,
co-operation and chemistry. Sebastiani’s bass seems born to the tablas,
and Badal’s grooves just make the melodies happen |
